Zim women’s seven squad named

A 12-member Lady Cheetahs squad that will represent Zimbabwe’ at the forthcoming Women Rugby Sevens Cup tournament in Tunisia over the weekend has been named.

The tournament, which will feature nine teams, will be played at Mustapha Ben Jannet Stadium in Monastir, Tunisia on Friday and Saturday.

Zimbabwe who are in Group A together with South Africa and Senegal will have the services of Delight Mokomondo, Erica Mack, Caroline Malenga, Lindiwe Munerenyu, Chiwoniso Mabika and Rumbidzai Chigumbu.

Also in the Lady Cheetahs team will be Precious Marange, Precious Chirinda, Samantha Chirongoma, Robyn Mhembere, Margret Magwaro and Ropafadzo Madyah.

The Lady Cheetahs will be under the tutelage of Derek Chiwara. Anne Butau and Vivienne Emanuel are the team’s physiotherapist and team manager respectively.

They will be going for a two-day tournament that will have Uganda, Kenya and Zambia in Group B. Pool C will consist of hosts Tunisia, Madagascar and Ghana.
