ZIDANE ZIDANE has claimed he knows Kylian Mbappe wants to play for Real Madrid one day — with a sensational transfer seemingly on the cards.
The Bernabeu boss, 47, revealed it’s the France star’s “dream” to play for the La Liga giants as the striker’s future continues to be shrouded in speculation.
Mbappe, still only 20, has been linked with a move to Madrid for well over a year and Zidane appears confident in one day landing his man.
When asked if the France hotshot will play for Los Blancos in the future, Zidane revealed: “I don’t know, it’s the player who decides.
“At the moment he plays for Paris Saint-Germain, we’ll see in the future if that changes.
“I know he always said his dream is to play for Real Madrid.”
Mbappe burst on to the footballing scene in the 2015-16 season, before enjoying a breakout year a season later.
Since then, Mbappe has played 104 times in Ligue 1, scoring an outrageous 67 times — including 33 strikes in just 29 games last season.
His red-hot form has attracted the attention of Real Madrid, with fellow Frenchman Zidane itching to bring him to the Spanish capital.
Mbappe joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco on loan in 2017-18, before making his £162 million deal permanent the following year.
And former Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has revealed Mbappe claimed a move to Real Madrid was his ultimate goal even before his move to Paris.
Vasilyev said Mbappe told him: “Real Madrid will wait for me.”
But PSG are undeterred and desperate to tie the goal-mad forward down to a new long-term deal.
The Ligue 1 champions are thought to be readying a stunning £34,5m-a-year deal to stave off Los Blancos’ interest.
Real Madrid on the other hand are lining up a world-record bid of £258m to finally land their man.
