Edwin Mackavel “Young Reece” Ndlovu popularly dubbed Bulawayo’s A Reece due to his looks and tone is the talk of town with his crispy fresh single titled uGogo onemali featuring hip-pop godfather Cal_Vin.

The most anticipated young trap artiste is back with a hard trap banger alongside favourites Cal_Vin, Cliff Jeans and Louis Vitlayne.

Young Reece said: “The track title, uGogo onemali was inspired by all rich, aspiring, and successful women in the country, Sandra Nebele, Mai Chisamba, Ammara Brown and Chengeto Brown, only to mention a few.”

Who is Young Reece?

A school dropout in pursuit of music with high hopes of making a living through the industry. However, he soon regretted the abrupt decision and is now back in school doing Form Four.

“I dropped out of school in pursuit of music but hell no, I was crazy, I had to reinvent myself and at a point of self actualisation I saw my potential that I was capable of juggling both, school and music.

“This is to my younger brothers out there thinking that music alone is the future, study hard at school and then during your spare time, work on your hobby, of which mine is music,” said Young Reece.

This is the same dude who made waves as his act was the icebreaker at Intwasa Festival 2019 Friday Night Youth merriment show at City Hall with his hit song Rasta and Too bad featuring Asaph and Louis Vitlayne.

Why trap?

“It has always been in me, I feel like I was born for this type of genre and it’s only a matter of time before I start making waves in the music industry worldwide.”

Lookalike A Reece and you even call yourself Young Reece?

“Well, the South African artiste Reece raps and I trap, those are two different styles of singing.”

About the name Reece?

“It’s a coincidence that we look alike and I won’t let that get into my head. I’m doing my own thing, we are two different people,” said the trap king.

Here are a few more annotations which cannot go unnoticed about the two.

Reece means baby boy, or mama’s baby.

A Reece raps, Young Reece traps.

“Rap is gangster storytelling and trap is all about flex and paper chasing.

“I wear what I like but funny how that my sense of dressing matches A Reece,” clarified Young Reece.
