CRY our beloved football!

Hours after, the Sport and Recreation Commission (SRC) suspended the ZIFA board led by Felton Kamambo, the country’s football mother body withdrew the services of referees for Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Week Two matches which were set for Tuesday afternoon.

The Zifa board was suspended early Tuesday, a move which may result in potential disqualification from Afcon tournament scheduled for January 2022 in Cameroon as a result of Government’s interference in the running of Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).

Chaos ensued at Barbourfields Stadium, where Highlanders were set to take on Ngezi Platinum Stars, as fans demanded to be reimbursed their hard-earned cash. Sources in Mutare also told B Metro Sport that match officials were in no show for the Craneborne Bullets versus Bulawayo Chiefs match at Sakubva Stadium.
