Multi-award-winning songstress Vuyo Brown has collaborated with celebrated songstress and guitarist Tatiro NeGitare on a rendition of a song called Areka.
Areka was first released by Vuyo Brown on her 2018 album titled Grace Fulfilled.
Areka means ark and here it refers to the ark of Noah which is being used to represent salvation.
The song basically lays out a new believer’s walk.
It goes on to describe the changes and benefits of taking a new path in life.
The song is available on all streaming platforms for FREE!
Vuyo Brown said AArekawould always be reinvented (with other artistes she will collaborate with) and Tariro NeGitare became the first artiste to come on it.
The guitarist fell in love with Areka and wanted to be a part of it.
On featuring on the masterpiece Tariro NeGitare said: “It’s a beautiful song and very timely to reinvent especially with artistes who are like-minded and pursuing the same goal.”
Vuyo Brown said it was an honour to work with Tariro NeGitare on this rendition and when she agreed to feature on the offering, she grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
She said it was an honour to work with Tariro.
“The idea of Tariro coming on the song was humbling and exciting because it felt she would bring authenticity to a sound I sometimes tap into and absolutely love.
“I call it the authentic Zimbabwean sound and definitely she brought the flavour I wanted,” said Vuyo.
Vuyo Brown is a singer and songwriter known to most for her chart-topping hit “Thula Wazi” (Be Still and Know) which took the hearts of many in and outside Zimbabwe for its message of hope and encouragement in a bleak time.
