UNREGISTERED Bulawayo City captain Zibusiso “Mzimara” Sibanda has reportedly started training with the club.

Sibanda, a rock-solid defender, was overlooked by the Bulawayo City technical team that has ventured on a team rebuilding exercise.

“I’m happy that I have started to train with the rest of my team members. Bulawayo City has always been my home and I never lost hope when I was not registered in the first transfer window. I will work hard to reclaim my place in the team,” said an ecstatic Sibanda.

The second transfer window is set to open in July.

According to an impeccable source, Sibanda was overlooked together with former Highlanders and FC Platinum midfielder Welcome “Waroowa” Ndiweni.

In 2019, Sibanda and Ndiweni were instrumental when City regained promotion into the country’s elite football league following a close chase for the Zifa Southern Region Division League title with Talen Vision.

With Sibanda, a former Caps United defender, still yet to be registered, imposing centre back Douglas Sibanda is the stand-in Bulawayo City captain.

Douglas retraced his footsteps to Bulawayo City in 2020 after a one year playing stint at Talen Vision.

He played his first match for the city fathers last Saturday when they played a two-all drawn game against Bulawayo Chiefs.
