Tit for tat- medical embargo over sex ban

IN a marriage sometimes sex can be used as a weapon to punish each other.

This was at play when a Bulawayo man claimed his wife moved out of their matrimonial bedroom to punish him for not buying her medication.

Responding to his wife Solile Nyoni (56)’s claims that he was physically and emotionally abusing her, Etwell Zikhali (54) from Mhlophe Flats in Mzilikazi suburb said their marital problems started when his wife moved out of their bedroom.

This was also after Nyoni, who has diabetes and was seeking a protection order at the Bulawayo Civil Court, claimed that her husband was refusing to buy her medication.

“I am customarily married to Etwell Zikhali. We have been together since 1985. He is in the habit of physically and emotionally abusing me despite our old age. He has become a threat to the family because of his abusive behaviour.

He also insults me in the presence of neighbours.

“He also shouts obscenities at neighbours whenever he is drunk. I am diabetic and his violent conduct is worsening my condition as he is also refusing to buy me medication,” complained Nyoni.
