ZIFA Southern Region Division One side Talen Vision are looking forward to having a testimonial match for their former midfielder Heritani Masuku who hung his football boots early this year.

Masuku has since assumed the role of kit manager at Talen Vision’s sister club Trukumb FC who are in the Zifa Central Region Division One League.

Trukumb FC were formerly known as Filabusi Under-19 and they gained promotion into the Zifa Central Region at the end of 2019.

“Masuku decided to hang his boots early this year. As Talen Vision, we have had a fruitful relationship with him. He is now the kit manager of our sister club Trukumb FC. When things normalise we are going to have a testimonial match for him,” said Talen Vision manager Juma Phiri.

Masuku (39), who had playing stints with the now defunct Njube Sundowns, How Mine, Highlanders, Chicken Inn and Bulawayo City said his had been a fruitful football journey.

“I so much enjoyed playing the game. It has been an interesting journey that saw me play professional football for 15 consecutive years,” said the pint sized Masuku.

He was a member of Bosso’s 2012 and 2013 trailblazing squad that conquered many under the guidance of Zambian gaffer Kelvin Kaindu.

Vision ended the 2019 Zifa Southern Region Division One season as first runners-up to eventual winners Bulawayo City.

This was after the former had argued that Bulawayo City used suspended players in some of their games thus the results for those particular matches were supposed to be declared null and void by the football mother body — Zifa.

The Bulawayo City Council-owned team were adamant that they were the legitimate winners of the First Division league and would be playing Premiership football in the 2020 season.
