A 19-year-old teenager killed himself by hanging after he murdered his workmate at a field for yet to be known reasons in Ncema, Esigodini.
The murder-suicide happened on 18 November.
Mayibongwe Mpofu was found late in the day by a man who was looking for his cattle.
His clothes together with a blood-stained were found next to him. It is said that Mayibongwe was weeding with his colleague Moment Ncube (20) in the field of Jessy Mpofu, their employer on Thursday morning.
After Mpofu had prepared tea for the boys, she followed them to the fields and found Ncube on the ground with a deep cut on his head and unable to talk.
In fear, she ran to the nearby compounds to notify her neighbours and was helped by Mbulisi Mguni to take Moment to the United Bulawayo Hospitals in Bulawayo.
He died upon admission.
The matter was reported to Fort Rixon police station and police officers went to the scene and collected the body of Mayibongwe the next morning. The incident was confirmed by Inspector Loveness Mangena, the police spokesperson for Matabeleland South.
She encouraged the public not to use their emotions in solving disputes but to involve third parties.
