It seems it’s in his nature to just disappoint fans!

South African AmaPiano artiste Sir Trill who was supposed to be a headlining act alongside Sjava and Felo Le Tee at the Summer Block Party, was in no show on 20 March at Eyadini.

A source on the sidelines of the gig who is close to the promoting team, said Sir Trill cancelled his trip to Bulawayo after he fell sick.

“He had peptic ulcers which cause him to have a running tummy meaning he couldn’t fly and perform in the country,” said the source.

However, for his dud in the city of Kings, Sjava managed to balance the stage and cover up for the Yini Sdakwa hitmaker and also for Felo Le Tee (who also cancelled his trip at the last hour) who rose to fame courtesy of his song Ngwana Mani.

As if that was not enough of him, on South Africa’s number one Podcast n Chill Episode 335, the host Mac G said Sir Trill also missed another gig over the last weekend which was set to take place in Eastern Cape.

However, Mac G was then required to call the artiste’s manager Bro Given to confirm the issue.

Bro Given said Sir Trill did not perform in Eastern Cape because his booking fee was not fully paid.

“This guy (the promoter) drove all the way from Eastern Cape to knock at my house in Soweto saying he has come to fetch Sir Trill to perform in Eastern Cape while he only paid half of the booking fee.

“He sounded not legit to us and that raised the security alarm to us as we felt he was bogus. We then refunded him his money and we parted ways,” said Bra Given in a WhatsApp call interview conducted by Mac G.

Bra Given also raised awareness to artistes on bogus middle runners who have the capacity to be fraudulent in between the lines of providing services for the promoter while duping artistes.

This kind of scam has also been a common issue in Bulawayo.

“You know how these bogus handles knobs work, they go to the main promoter or the owner of the venue claiming they manage so and so while they are just chancers.

“They usually take money from the main promoter and negotiate with the artiste so that they can cut some money from the artiste’s booking fee. To us we detected that from the Eastern Cape guy and we refunded him his money and cancelled the show,” said Bra Given.

Meanwhile, Bra Given said Sir Trill was done recording his much anticipated album and was now at the mastering and mixing stage.
