SEVERAL months of toil come down to one final matchday, it’s a fever pitch in Zifa Central Region and it’s for Sheasham to lose and for TelOne to grab!
Heading into the last day of the Zifa Central Division One League, it is still all to play for for both Sheasham and TelOne with the former needing at least a draw to seal their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League promotion when they take on Loss Control on Saturday.
Under the guidance of ex-Chapungu mentor John Nyikadzino, Sheasham head to the match three points clear of former PSL side, TelOne.
Going into this last round of fixtures that have drawn so much attention, Sheasham are on 57 points and TelOne on 54 points, but with an impressive superior goal difference. A loss for Nyakadzino’s charges could see TelOne bouncing back into the top flight if they beat Vumbachikwe.
What extreme excitement and Sheasham are not new to this kind of scenario! In 2019, they watched in disbelief when the Zifa Central Region title was snatched from them by Whawha right at the embers of the league race.
No wonder Nyikadzino is saying they are guarding against complacency.
“It’s still game on. We have 90 minutes to play. We need the result and we will celebrate after. Maximum concentration is needed,” said Nyikadzino who watched his side dismiss MSU 2-0 last weekend.
Question: Can TelOne upstage Sheasham?
Answer: Only time will tell
