THE dry spell continues!

Multi-award winning Novuyo Seagirl has once again failed to walk away with the Best Female Artist and Best House Song awards that she was nominated for in the Star FM awards which were held last week Saturday at Manna Resort in Glen Lorne, Harare.

It has been almost a year since Seagirl last walked audaciously to the stage to receive a music merit but the brazen muso is showing no sign of giving up.

“Akulahlwa mbeleko ngokuswela (You don’t have to give up because of missing out on something), I have five awards in my trophy display and I’m still coming for more awards, ngisazobanyisa nyi nyi (I’m still in the game),” said the ambitious Seagirl.

The hopeful songster became the first Bulawayo artiste to scoop an award at the inaugural Star FM Music Awards last year in Harare.

With such a good record, the bold Seagirl hoped to reach the level she set last year.

Before the awards, the songbird couldn’t hide her elation following the nominations.

“Being recognised at such prestigious events which cover the nation as a whole motivates me to work hard on a daily basis. I want to thank my fans for standing by me through this journey which I’ve been on for a while now, but only managed to get recognition recently,” said Novuyo Seagirl.

Seagirl’s Bambelela lost to DJ Stavo featuring Gemma — Bad News in the Best House Song category, and Janet Manyowa in the Best Female Artist category.
