After successfully releasing her first single Umqali Wendaba, which proves to have taken many by storm, Gwanda-based Soul Gospel artiste Sandra Sibanda has made a follow-up and released visuals for her much appreciated single.
Umqali Wendaba translates to “the one who starts a dialogue”.
The single was dropped on 11 June and it has managed to generate over 7000 views in a space of a week, something that can be said to be an achievement for a starter in the game.
The visuals were then released on 16 June, and they were shot in beautiful settings of Matabeleland North’s Victoria Falls and its outskirts rural areas of Chisuma and Monde.
Buckmaster media were responsible for cinematography.
Sibanda, who was born in Insiza, Matabeleland South, said she decided to go “north” for the video shoot so as to show the world the beauty of Zimbabwe, that is the Victoria Falls.
“This was my first musical video in my career and I am excited with the love and the reception the song has made on YouTube. It is attracting positive feedback and it’s motivating and encouraging me to continue doing well.
“The setting for the shoot was in Victoria Falls which is one of the seven wonders of the world. I chose to do the video there as a manner of showing the globe how God has blessed us with beautiful views of the falls,” said Sibanda.
With the reviews that the song has managed to generate so far, Sibanda is looking forward to dropping more singles until they make up her first album which she said would boast of six tracks.
The singles that are yet to be released include Qoki, Amacala, Konakele and Babawethu.
Asked on which single would follow next, she said she was keeping her fans guessing.
“I want my fans to have fun in the process of releasing my next single that’s why I won’t disclose the title. However, I promise them that more beautiful music from me is on its way,” said Sibanda.
Apart from music, Sibanda is a fulltime registered general nurse at Gwanda Provincial Hospital.
