SITHOKOZILE Betty Sibanda from Bulawayo is sleeping with one eye open like a crocodile after her grandson threatened to pour paraffin on her while she is sleeping and set her ablaze.
She said most of the time whenever her grandson Wellington Sibanda was from boozing, he would bang on her doors demanding food.
Sibanda said at times her rowdy grandson would also threaten to chop her into pieces.
As a result of that she is now living in fear and has rushed to court to seek a protection order against her grandson.
In her application for the protection order the troubled Sibanda said her grandson also hurled insults at her and relatives who would have visited her.
“I am applying for a protection order against my grandson Wellington Sibanda. Whenever he is from drinking beer and in the middle of the night, he hurls insults at me and bangs on my bedroom door while threatening to axe me into pieces.
“Whenever our relatives visit us, he would harass them and I am now afraid he will end up killing me.”
Wellington didn’t come to court to defend himself leading presiding magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube to grant the protection order in favour of Sibanda.
Wellington was barred from insulting her grandmother and threatening to kill her.
