ZIFA Central Region Division One side Trukumb FC have appointed Mighty Warriors head coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda as their assistant coach.
Sibanda now reunites with Lizwe Sweswe, who was unveiled as the club’s head coach late last year after parting ways with premiership side FC Platinum. The two mentors enjoyed a good working relationship at Tsholotsho FC after the outfit got promotion into the country’s elite football league at the end of 2014.
“I can confirm that Sithethelelwe Sibanda has joined Trukumb as first assistant coach. She signed with us more than a week ago,” said Trukumb FC manager Bongani Langa.
Sibanda joins a technical department that also has Ntokozo Tshuma as second assistant coach. Last year the club was under the guidance of veteran gaffer Makhosi Mbeba, who has since reverted to his position of Trukumb and Talen Vision’s chief scout.
Six years ago, Sibanda made history when she became the first female coach to work in a competitive men’s football league in Zimbabwe. She is a holder of a coaching instructor’s qualification, a Caf A coaching badge. In 2012 she attended and acquired a Germany B licence course certificate.
