Langalakhe Mabena
The winner on the New Comer of the Year category (across all genres) at the sixth edition of the Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (RoilBAA) is set to walk away with R35 000, which will be used for traveling and creation of works and collaborations with artistes from Eswatini (Swaziland).
The category is proudly supported by the Larry Mhlanga Foundation.
The much-anticipated annual awards will take place on 24 December (Christmas Eve) at the traditional venue, Bulawayo Large City Hall.
Artistes nominated on the New Comer of the Year category are Bhekiwe, JoyRukanza, Acquilla K, Stacey Matarise, Charleston Trust Primary School and Andrea The Vocalist.
Voting lines opened last week and Econet subscribers can text the name of their favourite nominee to 535 together with a unique code to vote for them.
The process will end on 23 December at midday, and one can vote as many times as they want for their favorite nominee.
Ordinary tickets for the awards are pegged at US$30 which will include meals.
