THE Carling Black Label (CBL) pool regional finals are set to conclude on Saturday with players in Matabeleland South, Midlands, Masvingo, Manicaland, Mashonaland Central and Harare Two expected to engage in fierce battles to represent their respective provinces at the national finals.

The national finals are scheduled for July 23 in Harare. The national finals were moved by two weeks from the previously communicated date.

With 18 centres out of 24 having already played host to the contests’ regional matches, Gwanda’s Club 626 will be the venue for Matabeleland South provincial finals and Midlands pool players will converge at Kwekwe’s Happy Hour Mbizo outlet for their fight for the national finals berth.

Mutare’s Giant Sports Bar will play host to Manicaland province’s bruising encounters for Manicaland-based players’ qualification for the final competition.

Club Connect Bar in Bindura will be the place to be for billiards lovers and players in Mashonaland Central. Raylton Bar in Masvingo will also be expected to be a hive of activity as the province will also have players seeking to outdo each other for the tickets to the national pool extravaganza.

The CBL pool tournament is being run as a consumer-based Delta initiative, with Zimbabwe Pool Association (Zipa) providing technical and administrative support in running the games.

“It’s pleasing to note that everything went according to schedule. The last regional finals will be held on Saturday and we greatly look forward to competitive and exciting matches that will build up to the national finals,” said Zipa public relations officer Donald Wadawu.
