BULAWAYO Central District (CBD) pool league action is scheduled to start this Saturday with 20 teams expected to battle it out for the top spot in this year’s season.
The teams that will battle in the league include Skittle Inn, Ekasi, Delta, Waverly, Ntabazinduna, Mash Restoration, Donnington, ZRP Central, TelOne, Edgars, Joy, UBH, Expendables, Elangeni, Nokkies and Kleh Mint.
The fixtures that will be held in different venues in the city will see all the 20 teams playing their first game of the season.
Bulawayo Central District Pool Association chairperson Cadman Moyana said as an association they had come up with a new strategy to guarantee fair play in the league and also to avoid cheating during the games.
“As new chairman for CBD, I saw it fit to have some changes in the way we conduct our games especially on the issue of identifying players who are registered by the 20 top-flight clubs for this season.
“So far, we have introduced players identification cards (IDs) to avoid a scenario whereby clubs were picking unregistered players to play for them and this will go a long way in ensuring that we have a fair and vibrant league this season,” said Moyana.
Two weeks ago, CBD teams also participated in the beast tournament that was held at Raylton Sports Club where Kings and Dropmark swept to victory in the tourney.
