Police plead with public to help with probe

Police in Bulawayo are investigating a sudden death case whereby an unknown dark male adult aged around 35 to 38 years old and 1,7 metres tall is suspected to have drowned in the city.

It is alleged that the incident occurred on 27 March along a stream between Princess Margaret Clinic and Bulawayo main swimming pool which is located along Samuel Parirenyatwa in Bulawayo.

His body was found by a passer-by who informed the Bulawayo city council security detail after he found the upper body of the deceased immersed in water.

The now deceased was wearing a black T shirt written “he ads on its front and tails on the neck”.

The body of the deceased was taken to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) mortuary for post mortem and it indicated that the deceased drowned.

The body is still being kept at UBH as it has not yet been identified.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.

“We are urging the members of the public to carry the national identification cards or documents at all times so that in case of a problem an individual can be positively identified,” said Ncube.
