Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invariable, they are both disappointed.”
Albert Einstein’s above quote rings true when one puts into account the latest marriage break up between musician Njabulo Nkomo otherwise known as Tytan and his ex-wife Olinda Chapel.
When they got traditionally married after Tytan paid lobola in March last year, already Olinda was a troubled woman with a string of drama series and numerous breakups with ex-boyfriend Desmond “Stunner” Chideme such that her romantic life besieged social media users.
Tytan became an option to move on with and in starting the union, fans were hoping Olinda would change her ways especially after their wedding.
Their daughter Nandi was supposed to be a uniting force between them.
Unfortunately, it seems some people will never change.
On Wednesday, social media users woke up to a shocking revelation by Tytan revealing that Olinda abused him in their over one-year-old marriage and that he was seeking help from domestic abuse services.
In a statement Tytan wrote: “Our relationship (with Olinda) has sadly ended due to a catalogue of events that took place in July 2019. I will be able to talk fully about the full details of the reason why our relationship ended after the completion of police investigations and various legal proceedings.”
He further went on to post: “I am receiving support from a strong legal team and domestic abuse services. I would kindly ask that my family, fans and the public bear with me as I go through a very challenging and trying season in my life. Please keep Olinda, myself and Nandi in your prayers.”
When this reporter reached him for a comment, Tytan, the man who seemed to be having a broken heart responded: “Let’s not talk about this, we will talk once the dust is settled.”
