FOLLOWING Peter Muduhwa’s recent unsuccessful stint at Tanzania’s Simba SC, his handler Gibson Mahachi is seeking to capitalise on the current transfer window to get a deal for the defender in South Africa.

After having agreed a six-month loan deal with Tanzanian top tier side Simba SC, Muduhwa did not play a single minute during his stay in Dar es Salaam after some administrative issues between agents, George Deda and Mahachi.

After the player found himself in the middle of a turf war between the two super agents of local football, the player retraced to Highlanders.

“What happened in Tanzania is now water under the bridge. We are certainly working something for him (Muduhwa). We are trying to get a deal for him in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League. We are working hard and we are looking forward to capitalise on this current transfer window to get him something,” said Mahachi.

Mid last year, Muduhwa’s planned move to Sudan collapsed after facilitators were reportedly angered on discovering that he had an agent on the eve of his departure.

The Pumula-bred footie had been linked with a move to one of the top clubs in Sudan, Al-Merreikh, Al Hilal, Al Ahly Shendi, Al Khartoum SC or Hilal Al-Obayed.

In January 2017, Muduhwa and Prince Dube, now with Azam of Tanzania, went for trials at the now defunct South African Premier Soccer League club Bidvest Wits.

Dube was signed by SuperSport United where he, however, failed to make an impact, resulting in him being loaned and then subsequently returning to Bosso in 2018.

Muduhwa’s contract with Highlanders expires at the end of the year and his performance in the heart of defence has continuously attracted interest from local clubs.
