IT might not be very clear but hints point to an early departure for Zimbabwe born coach Takesure Chiragwi from the helm of MTN Premier League of Eswatini outfit Mhlume Peacemakers to take the assistant coach offer at Castle Lager Premier Soccer League outfit Caps United.

Caps United have been heavily linked to Chiragwi as one of the assistant coaches to Darlington Dodo after losing the entire technical department led by Lloyd Chitembwe to city rivals Harare City Football Club last month.

Chiragwi is on a season’s contract at the Eswatini outfit who he joined in January as assistant to Rodwell Dhlakama before rising to the helm for the new season in which he remains unbeaten in two matches.

Mhlume Peacemakers spokesperson Bheka Magagula referred all inquiries to club director Sibusiso Scorpion Nxumalo whose mobile number was not reachable for the better part of Tuesday into the night but in recent local media stories the club said they “had running contract with our coach Takesure”.

Chiragwi’s Eswatini contact was equally not available but a source close to the former Shabanie Mine coach said the Zimbabwe born coach was in Harare taking advantage of the FIFA prescribed international break.

“He is away in Zimbabwe since it is the FIFA break but I can’t say whether he will return or not, anything is possible. I cannot rule out not returning. The rumour has been awash affecting the director who now loathes losing a second Zimbabwe coach in three months,” said the source.

Last week, Chiragwi’s Mhlume Peacemakers mounted the great fight back to steal a point off Tarisai Changara’s Tambuti FC.
With just over 20 minutes of play remaining a 2-0 lead by Tambuti looked a certainty but those who braved a cold night witnessed what might probably rate as the best fight back.

At the sound of the final whistle, Chiragwi heaved a loud sigh of relief his lads had remained unbeaten in two starts adding to Saturday’s 2-0 win over Manzini Sea Birds.

Despite the speculation spreading like a wild fire, Chiragwi is yet appear on the Caps United technical bench.
