A MAN from Gokwe in the Midlands province suffered erectile dysfunction after he had sex with a fenced married woman whom he had repeatedly been told to stay away from.

The incident which has become a subject of discussion in Ndangara Village which falls under Chief Chireya’s jurisdiction, happened recently.

A source close to the couple said the man, Tererai Moyo fell on hard times after he slept with Shingai Mandizvidza’s wife Rachel.

The source said: “Moyo has been having a sexual relationship with the married woman since 2017. He once was warned by the husband’s uncle to stop seeing Rachel but he turned a deaf ear to his advice,” said the source.

But he did not know that the husband decided to fence the wife, a practice where a spell is cast on whoever sleeps with her, with sometimes serious consequences, such as death.

“Mandizvidza is an artisanal miner and spends most of the time doing his mining activities in Inyathi, Matabeland North. Rachel would take advantage of that and invite her lover to spend the night with her at the homestead,” said a relative.

Things took a troubling turn three weeks ago when Moyo realised that his organ was no longer functional.

“When he tried to have sex with his wife his manhood failed to rise to the occasion. After that he drank an aphrodisiac  concoction but still it never rose and it remained flaccid,” said a source.

At first, the source said, it never dawned on him that his erectile problem could be due to sleeping with a fenced woman. The relative said the troubled Moyo and his wife enlisted the services of an inyanga (traditional healer), the inyanga spilled the beans.

“The inyanga revealed to them that his problem was due to sleeping with a fenced married woman and for it to be solved they had to engage Mandizvidza,” said the source.

Not convinced by the inyanga’s revelations they consulted a prophet who told them that for it to be fixed they needed to engage Mandizvidza. This disclosure threatened to wreck Moyo’s marriage.

“His wife fumed at him. She vowed to desert her marriage but elders intervened and calmed her down and she agreed to stay,” said the source.

The couple, the source said, engaged Chief Chireya to help them engage Mandizvidza.

Chief Chireya said the local leadership did not condone such behaviour, as such Moyo would be fined heavily.

Efforts to get a comment from Moyo and Rachel were fruitless
