A man from Bulawayo who grabbed his grandfather by his neck before head-butting and assaulting him with fists has appeared before a Western Commonage magistrate facing physical abuse charges.

Dennis Ncube (31) appeared before magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube and pleaded guilty to the charge.

He was remanded out of custody to 21 November for sentencing.

The  court heard that  on Friday last week in Bulawayo’s  Old Pumula suburb, Ncube was involved in a fierce argument with his grandmother over a t-shirt.

Tempers  flared between the two parties and Ncube then charged at his grandmother while pointing a finger at her.

It is reported that when his grandfather Nashal Dube (70) stepped in to restrain him, he then directed his anger at him before he grabbed him by his neck and head-butted him.

As if that was not enough he went on to bash him with fists.

Sensing danger, his granny called neighbours who swiftly came and restrained Ncube.

They took him to a police station where a charge of physical abuse was filed against him.

Dube was rushed to hospital for medical attention.
