A man from Vundu Flats in Makokoba suburb died while he was relieving himself in a toilet on Wednesday.
A neighbour, who preferred to speak on condition of anonymity, said the late Sebatian Ncube (61) who was employed as a security guard , had not been feeling well for a week.
The neighbour went on to say his condition deteriorated yesterday as he failed to report for duty.
“In the morning he started to vomit and had a running stomach. He frequented the toilet and died while he was sitting on the chamber,” said the source.
The neighbour added: “The deceased’s neighbour bumped into his lifeless body while he was going to relieve himself in the communal toilet.”
The body was ferried to Bulawayo United Hospitals for a post- mortem.
The source said the late Ncube lived alone.
“He was accommodative and could get along with anyone. He was helpful because he assisted anyone who approached him for help. His death has left a void in our residence and to his family,” said the neighbour.
Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident. “We await a post– mortem to determine the cause of death.”
