Police in Bulawayo have launched a manhunt for two unidentified men who beat a man to death after he allegedly insulted them.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident and appealed for information that could lead to the arrest of the pair.
“Anyone with information may contact any nearest police station or send us a tipoff to 0787928015,” he said.
The murdered Craig Chuma (44), who was coming from a drinking spot with his friend, Melusi Ntini, is said to have insulted a truck driver who had stopped and asked for directions to Nkulumane suburb.
The truck driver and a man he was with attacked Chuma. Ntini managed to run away.
He later came back and found a battered Chuma lying on the ground. He took him home and left him in bed.
The following day, Chuma’s landlord got worried when Chuma did not wake up.
He knocked at his door and there was no response. He then forcefully opened the door and discovered that he had died.
A report was made to the police.
