A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly anally assaulting his co-tenant’s son.
The accused man cannot be named so as to protect the identity of the minor.
A source close to the incident said this week on Monday the alleged anal sex offender invited the tot to his bedroom to watch a movie on his smartphone.
“They started watching the movie at around 8pm and they later both fell asleep,” said an insider.
The source said the teenager got the shock of his life to wake up at about 12am to find himself naked, bleeding from his behind while the 25-year-old man was also naked, sleeping next to him.
The boy got worried and rushed to his mother’s bedroom and informed her.
“She checked him and saw stains of semen on his buttocks prompting her to confront her co-tenant but he denied the accusation levelled against him,” the source added.
The worried mother then dashed to Pumula Police Station and reported the matter.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
He urged parents to monitor their children and never to trust anyone.
“Parents should be concerned about the whereabouts of their children and they should not trust anyone because anyone has the potential of a being a sex offender,” he warned.
