A man from Makokoba suburb has been arrested after he allegedly failed to restrain his dog from biting a police officer.

A source close to the incident said when a cop named Talent Muponi (28) was doing patrols in Makokoba suburb with his boss, only identified as Sergeant Hurende, they met a man named Liberty Ncube, who was walking with his dog.

And that is when trouble started.

When the cops moved closer to him, his dog charged at the cops and mauled Muponi on the thigh and knee.

Ncube had to intervene to stop it from further mauling him.

After that the injured cop returned to the station with his boss and made a report.

Later on at about 7pm on the same day, cops from Mzilikazi police station pounced on him and arrested him.

Efforts to get a comment from Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube were fruitless as his mobile number was not reachable.
