Madzibaba Mutumwa lambasts B-Metro

Bulawayo-based Madzibaba Emmanuel Mutumwa on Thursday night attacked B-Metro, calling its journalists “uneducated” and ‘these boys with no cash” after the publication revisited his public pledge to buy Highlanders’ captains cars.

The article was asking Mutumwa why he had not delivered the cars, nine months after he had made the promise.

Mutumwa, who has in the past received favourable coverage from the publication, was furious when he learnt that B-Metro was questioning his pledge.

He made a diatribe against B-Metro by posting seven videos on his WhatsApp status. Below is a transcript of his videos:

“I will give them the cars when the time is right, the time will not be determined by the journalists. This clearly shows that the journalists lack education, I am more educated than them. Madzibaba where is the car, where is the car? For what when I am supposed to donate again? What I donated to Highlanders is not enough for people to ask where is the car? What I donated is worth more than the cars. What about what I have been asked to donate tomorrow? Have been asked to donate tomorrow.

“Where is the car Madzibaba Emmanuel Mutumwa? Can’t people see that this story is mbanje inspired, this journalist with his Degree is high on mbanje. If someone asks me to buy him a car and I agree, do journalists have to write a story? Is it a crime? I have too many cars to give out. You want to destroy our Bosso? Which players? This is a lie. Which players are you talking about? I donate to Highlanders. Bosso ngenkani. Bosso is ours. When journalists run out of stories to write.

“Tomorrow I will heal our chief in the name of Jesus. Our chief has to be healed. Our chief, here is another story, we are now doing miracles. Someone is opposing me, asking where is the car what, what. Is it a crime for someone to ask me to buy him a car and I promise that I will?

“Yesterday you were writing stories that I have taken a big team like Highlanders to Masowe. Madzibaba does not have money, now you are writing this about me. I did not take Highlanders to Masowe, the team came to thank me for what I was doing for it and to ask for prayers for it to succeed. You should be thankful. Just say thank you. Who else is able to do donations that amount to 60 to 70 thousand?

“I realised that the most difficult thing for a person to do is to be grateful for what you do for them. You see a person writing about the cars. How many things have I done for Highlanders? How many things have I donated to Highlanders and at what cost? I donated at the start of the lockdown and even today I am still donating,” said the irate Mutumwa.

Before posting the videos, Mutumwa had used the written word to show his displeasure.

“These boys with no cash… you are now messing up our team. You have run out of stories to write. Bosso players waiting for cars. Iwe musoro bhangu vano piwa uye point of correct (sic), not Boss players nyora bhoo,” he wrote.
