Tshibilika musician-cum-actor Madlela Skhobokhobo has proven to be a brand to reckon with lately as he has attracted a number of ambassadorial deals.

A few weeks after featuring in a South African advert, Dlelas has once again attracted another big brand — Global Water Drillers.

The borehole drilling company is based in Bulawayo.

Arts doyen Cont Mhlanga recently lamented the failure by new-age artistes to use modern technology to make a living.

But Dlelas must not be counted among that lot.

He said his appointment was a testimony that his brand was going places and any artiste from the city could work hard and be successful.

“Every time I get such endorsement deals, I just humble myself and thank God for laying a table before me. I appreciate so much the Global Water Drillers for inviting me on board.

“It is a great initiative to see companies partnering with artistes to reach out to their target market. I also encourage local artistes that besides being criticised, they can work hard and be successful,” said Skhobokhobo.

Skhobokhobo has been brand ambassador for a variety of companies that include NetOne, Zapalala, Kingdom Blue and Starsat.

Dlelas also started his own company Dlelas Deliveries, which delivers groceries from South Africa to Bulawayo and Plumtree.

“As an artiste I refuse to wait to be paid only by music. These initiatives I come up with are meant to sustain my career because there is life after music. I want my fellow colleagues in the industry to also be inspired,” said Skhobokhobo.
