A woman from Bulawayo is living in fear of her husband who forces her to have sex with him and threatens to kill her whenever she refuses.
Besides being sexually abused, it is understood that Tambudzai Zimbudzana from Pelandaba West suburb is occasionally beaten and insulted by her husband, Philani Tshuma.
In order to protect herself she decided to seek justice from the courts.
“I am applying for a protection order against my husband Philani Tshuma. He is physically, verbally, sexually, emotionally and psychologically abusing me. He assaults me for no apparent reason. He insults me in front of our children. He forces me to have sex with him and if I refuse he threatens to kill me. May the court assist me to stop him from calling me, to visit my workplace, to assault me, to insult me and to come to my place of residence,” said Zimbudzana.
In his response Tshuma said: “I have heard what she said. We had a misunderstanding and I will do what she wants but I still love my wife.”
Magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube ordered Tshuma not to abuse his wife.
