Multi-award-winning Gqom/AmaPiano artiste Bhadilah has partnered with Beitbridge’s new August Grills Restaurant in coming up with a dance competition as a way of connecting with fans during lockdown.

The winners will get food hampers courtesy of August Grills.

“We have come up with a dance challenge competition in partnership with August Grills Restaurant in Beitbridge. The competition will run online.

“Dancers will choose any Bhadilah song and dance to it, then share with us and we then post the short clips on our social media handles (particularly Facebook).

“The audience will vote for their best through liking the videos. The video with the highest likes will be considered the winner of the contest,” said Bhadilah from his base in Beitbridge.

The first winner will get R180 worth of meals from August Restaurant, the second and the third winners will get R90 and R30 worth of meals respectively.

Bhadilah said the initiative was a way of engaging with fans during the lockdown as most artistes were finding it hard to connect with their followers as holding shows and exhibitions was banned under lockdown.

“As artistes we are finding it difficult to stay relevant in the music industry due to the lockdown. This is one initiative that is aimed at re-connecting with my fans.

“We are also giving back to the community that has supported us as both brands (Bhadilah Music and August Grills Restaurant) and also to occupy our youths and keep them busy so that they do not find themselves engaging in drugs and other activities,” said Bhadilah.
