The search for Miss and Mr Rural Zimbabwean will be launched on 23 September at Lavinia Gardens.
This comes after Miss Rural took a 14-year sabbatical.
To spice things up, Mr Rural will be launched for the first time, an initiative which was begotten by models instructor and pageant founder Sipho Mazibuko so as to afford an equal chance to male models.
The affair will be strictly by invite and government delegates will grace the event.
Minister of Women Affairs, Community and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Sithembiso Nyoni will be the guest of honour.
Tino Machakaire who is the deputy Minister of Youths, Sports, Arts and Recreation will be the special guest.
Sipho Mazibuko, who recently joined ZANU PF courtesy of friend Sandra Ndebele (Bulawayo representative for young women in Economic Development) said she was grateful for the role the government played in empowering youths.
“Miss Rural Zimbabwe was last held in 2007. During its lifetime back then, it groomed models who went on to conquer the world.
“I saw it important to resuscitate the pageant (including the launch of Mr Rural Zimbabwe) as a way of allowing young people in rural communities to showcase their talent and have an equal right to their counterparts.
“The government’s different initiatives that empower youths, got me inspired and I saw it fit to bring back this pageant.
“We are looking forward to working with them (government) in changing the lives of the youths,” said Mazibuko.
