How birthday gift birthed a star

Every great dream begins with a dreamer!

It is every teenage boy’s dream to receive a bicycle, big toy car, Xbox or PS gaming console as a birthday gift, but when Innora’s father asked what he desired to have for his 14th birthday, to his father’s perplex he gave this response, “Please buy me a computer and studio equipment.”

His dream was to become a music star and eight years down memory lane, he has achieved that as he now owns his well equipped modern studio in the dusty streets of Njube.

Inspired by the much celebrated South African Benjamin Dube, who is a song-writer, singer and music producer, Innora learnt that he can be an all-rounder in the music industry too.

“My father bought me a computer and studio equipment on my 14th birthday and ever since then, I’ve never doubted my ability to make my dream come true, which is to touch souls with my works,” said the nascent Innora.

Now 22 years old, Innocent Elayi Banda famously known as Innora is a sensational gospel artiste, music writer, producer and he runs his own stable, Innora Music Records.

He has produced songs for the renowned Luveve boy, Cal_Vin, Donna N, Hwabaraty and Mzistozz, among others.

Topping the charts, Mzistozz featuring Hwabaraty—Uthando luqala and Innora featuring Cal_Vin — Ngikuthandile are some of his works.

The Gospel Rhythm and Blues singer has hinted on a song and visuals release set for 11 February, dubbed Vuma.
