Goblins torment widow

A MONEY CHANGER from Bulawayo’s Cowdray Park suburb is sleeping with one eye open as mysterious creatures make noise and ransack her house during the night.

Chipiwa Gumbo (54) stays with her child and a tenant at her house. But she has never known peace since her husband Joseph Mhaka died in 2015.

The troubled Gumbo revealed that she faces a horrid time during the night.

“Since my husband died four years ago I have faced a torrid time at the hands of mysterious beings which I suspect are goblins.

I fail to sleep during the night because there are strange things that move inside the room and cause a lot of noise as they argue among themselves accusing each other and declaring that there would be no appeasement that would be made,” she said.

The distraught Gumbo said during the night she also hears “people” talking in hushed tones in her bedroom.

“It’s so scary that at times I hear people hissing at me and when I switch on the light the noise stops.

When I close my eyes to sleep the mysterious beings would resume,” she said.

Her money disappears.

“I have mysteriously lost a lot of money. Two prophets told me that the mysterious beings are the ones which take my money,” said the dejected Gumbo.

She said she had approached traditional healers for help but her efforts have been fruitless so far.

“I have spent large sums of money on traditional healers but it could not stop and now I’m living in fear because at times during my sleep they (mysterious beings) choke me, as a result I think they will end up killing me,” she said.
