Nketa 7-bred Afro Dancehall artiste Fury Gun, real name Norest Muringa, has proven to be the man of the moment, the current hottest property in the city of Kings as his smash song Awukhuzeki has been voted by fans as number one on Skyz Metro FM’s top 10 music charts.
The song was released in July and soon after it was dropped, it became number one trending content on TikTok from Bulawayo as many joined on the video challenge of the song.
The song, which is a fusion of Afro Dancehall and AmaPiano was composed and produced by Fury Gun himself, with the video starring model Ben Chest, shot by Sanele Keaitse.
Awukhuzeki was motivated by “a guy who tried to love a girl, changing her to be wife material from a girl drinking in bars and nightspots.
“The guy fails to change the girl and he eventually gives up when he finds out that she is cheating on him.”
With the song trending on almost all local radio stations, Fury Gun said he was happy as the song was proof that he had arrived on the local music scene and he was hungry for success.
“I feel so honoured and appreciated to see my song ranking on the top spot. The success of Awukhuzeki has changed a lot in my career.
“ I am now regarded as one of the top performers in Bulawayo. That on its own has branded me to be recognised as a good artiste,” said Fury Gun.
The Nketa 7 bred muso is not slowing down any time soon as he has a couple of songs which will be dropped soon.
“After Awukhuzeki, I have decided to drop two songs of which the first one titled Angiyindawo will be dropped this month (September). The second one titled Ngifudumeze will be dropped in October,” he said.
Fury Gun was born in Mutare but he grew up in Nketa 7.
He discovered his passion for music in 2007. He started his professional career in 2011.
He describes himself as an Afro Dancehall creative, who is flexible and can adapt to different kinds of genres.
The song Awukhuzeki and the two upcoming singles will feature on his first Extended Play (EP) titled Royal White which will be released before the year ends.
