Employees slaughter employer’s goat

A 39-year-old man from Springs Farm in Bulawayo appeared in court for stealing and slaughtering his employer’s goat.

Presiding over the case, Bulawayo magistrate Busani Sibanda sentenced Zhoba Kufa to 10 months’ in prison and four months were suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar crime in the next five years.

Another two months were suspended on the condition he pays his employer Thokozile Ncube $27 280 and four months were suspended on condition that he does 140 hours of community service at ZRP Hwange starting on 10 August.

Allegations against the perpetrator are that on 28 July 2022, Kufa and Thembani Sibanda who is still on the run, stole and slaughtered a female goat belonging to their employer.

Thembani then took the meat to town to sell it.

The matter was reported to the police, and when they attended the scene they discovered that the duo had hidden the head, horns and hide in a blair toilet.

In his defence, Kufa said he was influenced by Sibanda to steal and slaughter the goat.
