VICTORIA Falls-based teenage musical sensation, Andrea The Vocalist has been nominated in two categories of the 2022 Roil BAA Awards set to take place at Bulawayo’s Large City Hall on 24 December.
The 13-year-old saw his trending single Uhambo being nominated for the Song of the Year and in the process his name was also picked up for the New Comer of the Year gong.
Speaking to B-Metro, Andrea said:“I feel honoured that I will be the one representing my home town Victoria Falls. I’m grateful for the nomination and I believe this lays a good foundation for a young newcomer like me. I’m greatly looking forward to the awards night.”
He added: “I am amazed at how supportive people have been to me. This is despite where I come from. Through my music, someone was kind enough to pay for my fees for three years and bought me all school necessities,” said Andrea.
Courtesy of his hit song Uhambo, the rising artiste has managed to work hand in glove with South African artistes that include Aubrey Qwana and music producer DJ Maphorisa.
To show that his musical career is growing in leaps and bounds, on 9 November the young muso performed in front of Members of Parliament at their 44th Conference of the Parliamentary Union held at the Kingdom Hotel in the resort town.
The rising music star’s followers and family members have also shuddered in disbelief after watching the musician’s interview being shown on BBC Africa News.
