LOCAL multi-award winning house/ kwaito music producer DJ Skaiva, real name Mqondisi Sibanda, has adopted the trending AmaPiano style of music production as he has expressed the kind of production on his new single titled Zwakala Nazo.
The single features Black Diamond’s Sugar Shane, Mawiza and songstress Noreen.
AmaPiano is a new genre which was created on the foundation of South African Deep house genre, only adding the melodies and skilful craftsmanship of a piano.
The music genre has proven to be popular in Bulawayo.
DJ Skaiva revealed that he decided to create the AmaPiano song because it was a fast rising genre across Southern African countries and locals could also relate to.
“AmaPiano is part of Deep house production and as a house producer I decided to give my local fans a taste of locally crafted AmaPiano flavour featuring talented artistes including Mawiza, Noreen and Sugar Shane.
“The song has gained a warm welcome locally as it is regularly played on local radio stations and night spots,” said Skaiva.
Mawiza revealed that it was a great experience to work with Skaiva on the track.
“Skaiva is a respected and celebrated producer in Bulawayo and the moment he told me he wants me to feature on his project I took the opportunity with both hands because he is a brand to reckon with especially in house music. I also learnt a lot by working with Sugar Shane and Noreen on the project,” said Mawiza.
