Apart from Cassper Nyovest, who doesn’t want a Khuli Chana feature?

Definitely not local youthful hip-hop sensation Cliff Jeans as his exploits have since caught Africa’s Rap giant Khuli Chana’s attention.

Cliff Jeans’ latest offering Stori Yiso, charmed Chana after the Tswa Daar hitmaker heard the New Magwegwe-bred rapper’s song being played on ZiFM Stereo by Amard on The Big Show session.

As Chana was gearing up for an interview on the show, his first opening statements were complimentary to Cliff Jeans’ song.

“Tell me about the jam that you just played right now. That was dope, it sounded like a smash?” asked Chana in the interview.

He proceeded, “That’s slick tjo, shout-out to the guy, he is putting in good work. I would like to work with him in the future; that will be amazing,” said Chana.

Khuli Chana

Cliff Jeans is ecstatic that he attracted Khuli Chana.

He believes the stunt that led to Cassper Nyovest remixing the late Cal_vin’s Zkhuphan hit, could possibly be done as Chana has since started following and engaging with him on Twitter.

“I am grateful to be recognised by Khuli Chana. I mean he is among big artistes on the African continent. I always dreamt of working with gurus like him and I think it’s God’s doing that he got a chance to feel my music on ZiFM.

“He has since started following me on Twitter and we are already chatting, I pray for a possible collaboration with him,” said Cliff Jeans.

Khuli Chana, who is a mentor at the Old Mutual South Africa’s AMPD Studios, hinted a lot on working and helping young artistes in the interview.

His main reason to becoming a mentor, was to honour the late Motswako kingpin HHP who helped him realise his dreams.

“You know when you have been doing this for a while (music), there comes a time that you feel like becoming responsible and sharing your knowledge.

“Shout-out to HHP, may his soul rest in peace. I am honouring him because I feel there is a need for me to groom other people and share these jewels as I gained a lot from his mentorship.

“There is a lack of business structure in the hip-hop industry and this drags down upcoming artistes, but what I like on the flip side is that they have a good work ethic, they are free-spirited. Rounding off, there is a lot that needs to be done to help them,” said Khuli Chana.
