TAKESURE Chiragwi’s Mhlume Peacemakers finally remembered how to win in the MAN Premier League of Eswatini as they beat Manzini Wanderers 3-0 after going eight weeks without tasting victory.

Their last win was on the 6th of October, they beat Malanti Chiefs 2-0 win. No one gave them a prayer against Manzini wanderers but as history has already recorded week 11 is the week they brewed a shocker.

Before their rare triumph they had lost a number of matches and drawn 1-1 against Mbabane Highlanders. It was only a fortnight ago in a SMVAF Ingwenyama Cup round of 32 that they discovered the winning touch with a slender 1-0 conquest over Mangwanya.

Last Saturday, Chiragwi’s was not the only Zimbabwean ending a lengthy winless streak; Ayanda Ncube joined him as Malanti Chiefs beat Tarisai Changara’s Tambuti 2-0.

It took Chiefs more than three months to break the streak having last won on the 27th of August – a 1-0 win over Milling Hotspurs. They had endured a 0-1 defeat to Manzini Sea Birds, 0-2 to Young Buffaloes, Royal Leopard and Mhlume Peacemakers, 1-2 to Mbabane Highlanders, 0-1 to Denver Sundowns and Manzini Wanderers.

Elsewhere, Takawira Chimwanda’s Moneni Pirates remained in the hunt for the championship as they drew 1-1 against Milling Hotspurs with just two rounds of match to complete the first half.

Meanwhile, league action continues this weekend with Peacemakers traveling to Milling Hotspurs, Malanti Chiefs facing Mbabane Swallows, Tambuti hosting Mbabane Highlanders and Moneni Pirates dating Manzini Sea Birds.
