Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, in partnership with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is calling for all high school pupils to participate in essay competitions running under the topic “Ending Child Marriages.”
Pupils who are likely to participate in the competition are forms one, two, three and five in Matabeleland North and South, Midlands, Mashonaland East, West and Central.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, said participating pupils were advised to submit their essays to the provincial offices of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education between 23 and 28 September 2022.
They should include their name, age, school year, name of school and province, as well as contact details including telephone number and address on the essay.
The national winner will get US$150.
At provincial level, the winner will get US$100, the second placed winner will get US$50, with the third placed winner getting US$25.
Many consolation prizes will be won.
