Cassper wants to be Nigerian

Rapper Cassper Nyovest caused a stir on social media after saying he wished he was a Nigerian national.

The Monate Mpolaye hit-maker made the comment over the weekend during a long discussion that almost went left with Zakes Bantwini regarding the state of the South African music industry.

2020 for SA music if you want unit in the industry we must stop being genre-based and be music-based. If we want to push SA Music to a level where Nigerians are you must think SA music industry then genre movement, period.

In response to the tweet a fan said he wished the rapper was from Nigeria, to which the rapper then said:

“Won’t even lie. I wish I was from Nigeria too. The love they have for their own artists, the way they celebrate their culture, 90% local content on radio and TV, the way they celebrate their music no matter where they are in the world, the unity within their in dustry. A DREAM!”

The tweet received major backlash on social media from fans who feel like they have supported the rapper since the beginning of his musical career. But Cassper remains unapologetic about the tweet and his fans find him ungrateful.

Cassper is ungrateful after all SA fans have done to build his Fill Up and brand.

He must also host his next fill up in Lagos.
