After losing their son Mgcini “Cal_Vin” Nhliziyo late last year in a hit-and-run accident, the gods have smiled upon the Nhliziyo family as they have found solace after the rapper’s girlfriend gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.
Michelle Maphosa gave life to yet-to-be named “baby Nhliziyo” on 30 March at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
The birth was natural.
Maphosa said she is over the moon for giving birth to a baby boy, something that Cal_Vin predicted before he met his fate on 25 October 2020.
“After realising that I was pregnant, I shared the message with Cal and in ecstasy, he vowed it’s a boy. I am delighted that his dream came true and I am sure he is happy where he is resting right now,” said Maphosa.
“Baby Nhliziyo” is the second for Cal_Vin after Khloe), she shared her delivery experience and described it as “painful but amazing”.
She wept on her first intimacy of holding her bundle of joy.
“I always thought I would give birth through a C-section but I am glad God answered my prayers and made me strong as I delivered naturally without any complications.
“After giving birth, the doctors let the baby rest on my chest as soon as he came out, and that experience brought tears with mixed emotions of joy and hurt. I was happy that I have brought life to earth, something that will give me purpose,” said Maphosa.
With heartache she continued: “At the same time those floods of tears also gave me a lot of questions on how I will explain to the boy where his father is and what really claimed his life, when he comes of age,” said Maphosa.
As of the christening of the baby, Maphosa said that she would love the boy to be the namesake of his late iconic father, but they were yet to discuss with the Nhliziyo family a suitable name for him.
