HIGHLANDERS’ trio of holding midfielder Adrian Silla, striker Prince Dube and central defender Peter Muduhwa seem to have dribbled into the heart of new Bosso Dutch coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh.
Following Bosso’s 2-0 triumph over former champions Chicken Inn in a mid-week fixture on Wednesday at Barbourfields Stadium, his second in charge of Bulawayo football giants, the Dutchman was full of praise for Silla, Dube and Muduhwa.
“I was happy on how Silla played. He was aggressive and I was impressed by the way he carried himself after we introduced his as a substitute for injured Devine Mhindirira,” said Pieter de Jongh.
About Dube, a senior national team and Young Warriors forward, who scored Bosso’s second goal to seal the Bulawayo derby as a contest, the pint sized gaffer said: “I talked to Prince during halftime. I told him you are a top player and you should stop sleeping and dreaming. In the second half, we saw top quality play from Prince after he started playing like a man. Even in our central defence Peter (Muduhwa) was very strong.”
Last weekend, Bosso knocked their old nemesis Dynamos out of the Chibuku Super Cup competition courtesy of a priceless Dube strike in what happened to be Pieter de Jongh’s first match in charge of Highlanders.
De Jongh took over a struggling side which is now placed on number 10 with 31 points.
The nomadic coach has promised results as well as developing players, assistant coaches and to create important networks for the club.
Meanwhile, Bosso will take on Herentals in their Week 25 league fixture set for Harare on Saturday.
Chicken Inn will play Chapungu at Luveve Stadium while CAPS United , who moved to the top of the table after edging Triangle United 2-1, thanks to a late header by Godwin Goriyati, meet Mushowani Stars.
Triangle have a date against equally bruised Harare City.
