Up-and-coming reggae artiste Kudzanai Tawanda known as Don Cedric has released an Extended Play (EP) titled The Vibe which is available on YouTube.

Last year, he managed to release a 30-track mixtape on Soundcloud and also 14 singles before the end of 2020. He released another compilation titled Finally with 14 tracks as well.

Kudzanai was born in Hwange and raised in Bulawayo in Nketa 9 where he did his primary education at Mgiqika Primary School and did his Ordinary Level at Nketa High School. He grew up around people who loved reggae music and was inspired to be a reggae artiste from a young age.

On his EP, Don Cedric said, “generally the EP is about the daily challenges that we face every day. Tribalism still exists and we cannot hide that. However, there is also love together with hate. The only thing that we can do is to stay strong regardless of what we face everyday.”

Such an environment made it possible for Don Cedric to pursue a career in music.

Don Cedric has managed to work with various producers like Collin Beats, Lungz D, Lorenzo, Sparks 45, FuryGun, Fyaah Moto, Donshense, KidThrill, and Icey B only to mention but a few.

Besides being raised in an environment dominated by people who loved reggae, the journey of life and the drama involved in it inspired him to portray everything through singing.

“I was mostly inspired by life in general and its drama. I aspire to inspire and uplift not only my surroundings but the world at large,” he said.

“I have collaborated with Cashiez from Lobengula West and Purge from South Africa,” he added.

Kudzanai sees himself as a force to reckon with in the reggae music industry and wishes to collaborate with Lutan Fyah from Jamaica.
