I’ll house you with The Big Dawg . . . DJ Fresh and the Drums are here!
It has been almost a couple of years now since South African Disc Jockey Fresh dubbed The Big Dawg last rocked the Bulawayo turn-tables and the spell will be soon broken as he is set to headline at Cosmopolitan Night Club on Saturday night.
Following a series of all-in-vain gigs to try and lure South African acts to perform in Zimbabwe this year, DJ Fresh’s entry will be a beacon of hope and provide solace to the disheartened local night life lovers.
Dr Malinga who was scheduled to perform at the large City Hall on 25 October bailed out at the last hour claiming to have encountered setbacks at the O.R Tambo (Johannesburg, South Africa) airport.
The Big Dawg’s touch down in Bulawayo would be a success for the local organisers, 3D Events Management who have pushed for him to charm the revellers.
DJ Fresh is set to touch down at midday on Saturday.
The 3D Events Management spokesperson, Mduduzi Mdlongwa, said DJ Fresh was expected to tour the City of Kings and scout for local talent.
“DJ Fresh has ever been keen on working with the local people of Bulawayo and especially in radio as he is a renowned radio personality,” said Mdlongwa.
Asked about the tragedy which befell many revellers at the Kabza de Small Amapiano show organised by the same events management which saw many visiting the nearest police stations to report lost and vandalised possessions.
Mdlongwa said: “In this particular show, we have hired a private security company to make sure everyone is safe.
“With the Amapiano show it was worsened by that the genre of the show attracted a lot of different people from all walks of life.”
The doors at the gig dubbed “I’ll house you with The Big Dawg . . . DJ Fresh and the Drums” will be open at 6pm, with DJ fresh expected to perform later that night.
