A 15-year-old girl who had a bust-up with her mother decided to cut her life short by committing suicide at her family home.
Nothabo Mlotshwa stayed in Nketa suburb and was said to be a fun-loving girl who used to spend nights out with her friends boozing.
Last Saturday she reportedly stole her mum’s money and squandered it all on booze.
When she came home in the middle of the night her mother quizzed her on why she stole her money.
Tempers flared and the teenager reportedly went to the toilet while her mother retired to bed.
A family member said the teenager decided to hang herself from the roof truss in the toilet.
The mother of the suicide victim woke up to find her hanging. She reported the matter to the police.
This incident comes as another teenage girl named Nomqhele Ndlovu(12) from Lobengula West suburb decided to commit suicide at her family home.
The devastated granny of the deceased Sibongile Sikotshi (50) said: “Nomqhele washed the plates on that particular evening as I was sitting in the living room. When it was about 7.30 pm I looked for her as I wanted to retire to bed but she had disappeared.”
Sikotshi added: “I looked for her in all the rooms but I could not find her. I then went outside and got shocked as I found her lifeless body hanging from a mango tree.”
She reported the incident at Magwegwe Police Station.
In another incident a man named Kingston Matarirano (age not supplied) from Emakhandeni suburb was found hanging from a tree in the suburb by a police constabulary.
The deceased used shoe laces to hang himself. Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the suicide incidents.
